Entrepreneurship Series: Acquisitions Bootcamp

What do you think about acquiring a company during your school year or right after graduation? Impossible? I thought so as well.

I joined this bootcamp, one of the few entrepreneurship events offered by INSEAD during the weekends, first because of the almighty FOMO (fear of losing out) and also because I thought that this was an impossible subject which I was curious to know more about.

The bootcamp turned out to be great! At the end of the event, my expectations of acquiring a company for myself went up from “impossible” to “hard”, which is good!

The bootcamp started on Friday night and ended on Sunday evening. Knowing that the concept of personally acquiring a company is hard to comprehend, the camp started with a dismantling of acquisition myths and skepticisms. Afterwards, we simulated  the process of acquiring companies from the point of initial contact to valuation to making the deal.

I wish I could describe it more, but unfortunately:
1. I signed an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement), and;
2. I don’t want to spoil your fun by explaining too much.

I felt inspired after the bootcamp and I’m pretty sure the other participants felt the same.

    FOMO = Fear of Missing Out. I don’t know how I missed that one…
